style spotlight: ashley tisdale

I am totally into Ashley's style. I wish I can raid her closet. She has this cool girl vibe that is not hard to copy. Her clothes are wearable for everyday life. It's not couture and so down to earth. Love it!

dream destinations

BORABORA

PARIS

ALASKA

Life is short. We don't have forever to do the things we want to do and see places we want to see. I am a firm believer of doing what you can NOW not TOMORROW. If you have the means, go and travel the world. If you don't , have a goal and work for it. For all you know, life is passing you by.

happy new year!!!

Farewell 2011! I am so looking forward to 2012. I am positive this coming year will be bigger and bolder. I am not so keen on having a New Year's resolution but I have things that I aspire to do. I believe in the power of taking things slow and doing it one at a time than having a hundred things at once and end up being overwhelmed. So for the coming year I want to:

- worry less
- travel  more
- not care about what other people think
- get rich(hahah)

get the look: classic trench

The iconic Burberry trench as seen on Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge has a staggering price tag of $1,600 which unfortunately for us is way too expensive. The classic trench is a closet must have because it is timeless and classic and can be worn with almost anything.Plus it never goes out of style. So for some women,it is worth it.How about for those who cannot afford it? Well,I have scouted far and wide for a perfect substitute for Burberry and I have found two awesome coats from H&M and Topshop. It is very affordable and came close quality wise.

love your body

When the photo of the woman above was featured on Glamour magazine, thousands of readers sent emails to the editor praising them for bravely featuring a plus-sized model on their pages. In this society where "thin is in" is the mantra, everyone is so fixated on achieving the perfect body which is unrealistic for most of us.It often leads to low self-esteem which makes our life miserable. There is nothing wrong if you want to be thinner, sexier,or prettier but if doing so makes you lose track of reality and you end up being frustrated with life, then it's time to set some boundaries.Start over and have a goal.Like if you want to lose some weight, start doing so by having a food journal where you can keep count how much you eat and eat only healthy foods.Or if you want to feel good, start exercising and you will feel so much better. It's not a contest,so take small, easy steps.

how to wear: beanie

When the weather is frosty, its time to bring out those adorable beanies we keep at the bottom of the drawer.A lot of people dislike the beanie because its not always universally flattering to the face. Round faced individuals claim it makes their face rounder than it already is.Although it may be true, there's a way to wear it to make the face appear narrower. You don't cover the forehead completely.Just tilt it a little and show some hair at the side as shown on Taylor.

black/white

As much as I love color, nothing fascinates me more than a black and white portrait. There is something about the absence of color that captures the rawness of beauty. It captivates the soul and makes you stare at the glorious imperfection of humanity.

how to wear: red pencil skirt

SIMPLE ELEGANCE
CHIC CLASSIC
SEXY EDGY
PRETTY ECLECTIC
ROMANTIC FLIRTY

The red pencil skirt is slowly gaining reputation to become the next big thing after the LBD(little black dress). It is so versatile that you can achieve different looks with it.I was hesitant to buy a red skirt because I did not have any idea what to wear it with. Now,I am on the hunt to find the perfect one. Ann Taylor actually has a pretty one and they are actually on sale right now.

pretty in tights

Give your old, boring opaque black tights a rest and dare to wear sheer, lacy colored tights that screams "Look at me!!!". They're not just for ballerinas anymore. Streetwalkers are strutting their stuff wearing colored tights and they don't look tacky at all. It's a definite cold weather must have.

feline attraction

Animal prints are popping up again and they're here to stay.If you dig the edgy and flirty look, then its for you. What's nice about the latest style is that its subtle and not "in your face" loud. But please don't be carried away and wear it head to toe or people are gonna call animal control.

blackhead wars

I absolutely hate blackheads. They are so annoying. You don't need a magnifying glass to see it because it stares right at you when you look in the mirror. The good news is, it is easier to treat compared to acne. It is excess sebum that gets trap inside the pores and is oxidized that's why its black. The key is to use a deep cleanser that penetrates the pores. Then exfoliate with a scrub once a week to remove dead skin cells.I love love love Mario Badescu's silver powder because it actually dissolves the blackheads.(no kidding!)I use it once a week after scrubbing with St.Ives apricot scrub.

things that make me happy

1. fresh linens
2. ocean waves
3. first snowfall
4. hot choco
5. starry night

It does not take much to make me happy. Simple pleasures in life make me smile.Life is too short to be worrying too much. So sit back, take a deep breath and laugh your way through life. What about you?

pucker up

The number one thing that I hate about winter: chapped lips. Its very annoying and embarrassing at the same time. The cold weather always bring major chapping of our lips so its necessary to have a heavy duty lip therapy. Some trusted brands are Rosebud Salve, Burt's Bees, Korres and Aquaphor. If it has shea butter, then it will work wonders.Who knows who will be under the mistletoe...
